Dear Vivienne’ is a thank you letter to the late Dame Vivienne Westwood for fifty years of fashion inspiration. Designed by art collective Vueltta, it’s a tribute, immersive installation and code-breaking game.
Dear Vivienne ran from 28.03.23 – 01.04.23 for Metaverse Fashion Week 2023 (#MVFW23). It can still be visited in NEO Plaza, Decentraland co-ordinates (-75, -4).

ANTI-FASHION REBELLION
Through Dear Vivienne, Vueltta hopes to introduce Vivienne’s work to a new audience. They also aim to highlight the connections between Vivienne’s legacy of ‘anti-fashion’ rebellion with the counter-cultural creativity of today’s digital worlds.
In the final decade of her life, Vivienne made all of her catwalks digital to reduce their climate impact, and promoted ‘anti-fashion’ – a more conscious approach to fashion. This placed self-expression and well-made designs over ‘fast-fashion’ and consumerism (which Vivienne believed had begun to dominate the fashion industry).

To celebrate this legacy, join us on Thursday 30th March at 7pm UTC for the Dear Vivienne Anti-Fashion Catwalk and Photoshoot. Walk the catwalk in your most ‘anti-fashion’ wearables and have your photo taken for an IRL exhibition later this year!

ENTER THE DEAR VIVIENNE GAME
Dear Vivienne is a game which includes a web2 ‘scavenger hunt’, a 3D hunt for clues in our installation and a code-breaking puzzle. We’ve been told it’s tricky. Will you take on the challenge?
Three winners or winning teams will be selected by random from all the correct solutions. Each will win a pack of exclusive Dear Vivienne NFTs.

HOW TO PLAY
1. Download your Dear Vivienne letter below ↓
2. The letter has seven missing words. Can you find them by exploring Vivienne’s life and work in web2?
3. See all those symbols? You need just seven of them to decode the final sentence of the letter. You’ll find the clues you need inside the Dear Vivienne installation (-75, -4)
4. Search the installation for the clues. (Tip: Look at the grafitti. For example, if grafitti “1” is a triangle, you need to collect the letter which would be where the triangle is in word 1.)
5. Use the code you uncover to decode the final sentence of the letter.
6. Submit your solution and selfie in the form below by 11.59pm UTC Saturday, 1st April 2023.
